Targeted and convicted by a broken justice system, Micheal Morisi was sent to prison for a crime that never even occurred-only to find Jesus in the "furnace" with him. It was Never About Justice is Michael Morisi's story of the broken and corrupt the criminal justice system, and how to find Jesus in the deepest of pits. According to Morisi, anyone who seeks Christ will find him. He is always there, ready to walk with those who seek him.Michael Morisi was charged with crimes that did not even happen and when he wanted to fight the charges, his Federal Public Defender told him: "Mike, you don't understand. This case is not about truth, not about guilt or innocence and not about justice. You were targeted. And you either play the game, or this Prosecutor will make sure you go to prison for ten years for something you didn't do. Just play the game and you'll go home to your family, then write a book.you'll make millions"Sentenced to prison for a crime that never happened, Michael Morisi had a choice: be angry and let the injustice become his identity, or believe every word God said and seek His glory in one of the darkest places imaginable. Despite his eight months of prison-being locked up in a broken prison system, away from his young family-Morisi wouldn't trade a minute, after all God did in and through him. Discover the truth of the Gospel and Morisi's resilience in hardship in It was Never About Justice.

ABOUT THIS BOOK: Capital Letters sheds new light on how literature has dealt with society's most violent legal institution, the death penalty. It investigates this question through the works of three major French authors with markedly distinct political convictions and literary styles: Victor Hugo, Charles Baudelaire, and Albert Camus. Working at the intersection of poetics, ethics, and law, Ève Morisi uncovers an unexpected transhistorical dialogue on both the modern death penalty and the ends and means of literature after the French Revolution. Through close textual analysis, careful contextualization, and the critique of violence forged by Giorgio Agamben, Michel Foucault, and René Girard, Morisi reveals that, despite their differences, Hugo, Baudelaire, and Camus converged in questioning France's humanitarian redefinition of capital punishment dating from the late eighteenth century. Conversely, capital justice led all three writers to interrogate the functions, tools, and limits of their art. Capital Letters shows that the key modern debate on the political and moral responsibility, or autonomy, of literature crystallizes around the death penalty in works whose form disturbs the commonly accepted divide between aestheticism and engagement.(Publisher).

Duke Douglas, recruited by Army Intelligence in 1942 while in his last year of medical school, proved to be just the sort of deep cover agent America needed to face the insidious Soviet threat of the mid-1950s. Reading Duke's adventures today the influence of Ian Fleming's super spy seem obvious but keep in mind that in late-1953, when Duke Douglas debuted, only Casino Royale was in print, there had been no films, and very few people had ever heard of James Bond. Clearly, the creative team at Comic Media were at least a heartbeat or two ahead of the game. Duke first appeared on the cover of Comic Media's Danger #6, cover dated November 1953. Only one of his stories credits a writer, Ken Fitch. Illustrations are provided by Don Heck, Pete Morisi, and Bill Discount. Boardman Books' "character" collections bring together the adventures of rather obscure golden ago comic book characters in single volumes. The point of the volumes is not to focus on a particular artist but to rediscover a character generally lost to comics fandom. Stories are reproduced from vintage originals from the collection of the publisher (and other sources) with only rudimentary cleaning to make the art more legible and therefore suffer all the drawbacks that implies. If you are looking for an exposition, or diatribe, on this artist or that, these books are not the place to find it. However, if you wish thrilling adventures as only comic books can convey, these might be the publications for you. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
