Spine lettered in white and magenta, with original paper obi (belly band) as issued. Signed by Moriyama in black marker at the bottom of the title page. This is #29 from a highly limited edition of 40 copies, issued with an accompanying signed silver gelatin print, and a pink suede clamshell box. The print is signed in pencil and hand-numbered on the verso by the photographer, with a protective tissue guard, and housed in a black and pink paper folder laid in to the box. This copy comes with a custom slipcase housing the suede box. This acclaimed photography book is illustrated with approximately 100 black & white photos of Tokyo's urban life & residents. "For Moriyama [Tokyo] represents his natural habitat and ultimate playground: the specific rhythm of the traffic, the tangible dynamic, the energy, and the infinite variety of people who endlessly stream over the side walks are hard to resist." Book and print (in folder) housed in a velvet-covered clamshell box. The silver print image size is 6-5/8 x 9-1/4 inches; paper size 8 x 10 inches, and is signed and numbered on verso in pencil by Moriyama (the photograh was made in the 1970s and printed in 2003. ABOUT THE BOOK: Photographically illustrated paper-covered boards with printed obi, no dust jacket as issued. Boldly signed (in Japanese and English) in black marker opposite the title page by Moriyama. Photographs by Daido Moriyama. Essay by Marcel Feil.
