'The Indo-Japanese Botanical Expedition was sent to Sikkim and the Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts in spring of 1960, sponsored by the University of Tokyo and the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeonbotany., Lucknow. Elle se compose principalement de montages de photographies et d'éléments graphiques provenant de sources variées allant des documents anciens aux photographies d'actualité, se mêlant aux textes factieux/ardus. Deux groupes d'avant-garde, dans la lignée d' "Archigram" y sont particulièrement présents:-Le groupe "Iryûhin Kenkyûjo" formé en 1967 par Tomoharu Makabe, Makoto Ôtake, Noriaki Murata, Daisuke Nakamura.-Le groupe "Konpeitô" formé vers 1968 par Ken Ide, Iwao Matsuyama, Makoto Motokura.Ces deux groupes ont été remarqués par la revue "Toshi-jutaku" entre 1969 et 1972.
