The dust jacket is in generally clean condition, but has several small edge nicks and smallish tears, some fading to the spine and some light rubbing and wear to the spine joints and corners. This is a log of a sailing barque - The Emerald - as it traveled in search of whales. The author of this log was William Henry Nichols, the grandfather of Captain Henry Nichols who has published the log. William Henry Nichols was a cooper and the ship's clerk and he kept this log for the ship. ; Signed by Author.
