Werner Moritz, amtierender Direktor des Archivs der Universität Heidelberg, liefert mit seinen zwischen 1981 und 2007 vorlegten Aufsätzen dafür ein Beispiel. Im ersten Teil seiner Marburger Jahre am Hessischen Staatsarchiv folgte auf die Beschäftigung mit dem spätmittelalterlichen Fürsorgewesen eine Phase intensiver Mitwirkung bei der Brüder Grimm-Forschung. Der folgende zweite Abschnitt an der Archivschule Marburg erforderte hingegen die Konzentration auf Lehre und Verwaltung. Erst der Wechsel an die Universität Heidelberg 1996 gewährte dem Autor neue Freiräume. Die Behandlung archivtheoretischer und berufsständischer Aspekte, daneben aber zunehmend die Bearbeitung von Themen aus der Geschichte der Universität Heidelberg stehen für den Ertrag des letzten Jahrzehnts. Aus Anlass seines 60. Geburtstages (17.2.2007) haben Sabine Happ (Münster) und Klaus Nippert (Karlsruhe) die verstreut publizierten Aufsätze des Jubilars ihm zu Ehren und begleitet von zahlreichen Gratulanten mit diesem Band zusammengefasst.
