Sobre todo las clases intelectuales del extranjero, todavía por completo bajo la influencia de los conceptos políticos tradicionales, deberían, va que pretenden poseer las virtudes de justicia, objetividad y tolerancia, dar prueba de saber dominarse y tener paciencia para estudiar objetivamente un fenómeno que en el curso de pocos años ha transformado espiritualmente a todo un pueblo, saneado su economía y cuyas repercusiones se extienden mucho más allá de las fronteras del propio país. Hacer posible este estudio objetivo es lo que se propone el presente libro. No persigue fines de propaganda o de polémica, sino que quiere ante todo ser un relato imparcial de hechos. Es tan convincente y honrado el lenguaje de la realidad, que toda ponderación o reprobación sólo producirían confusión. Allí donde se citan juicios en el relato, se limitan principalmente a dar a conocer las experiencias personales de extranjeros, intentando convertir este libro en una obra de consulta de toda confianza. El autor, como extranjero que es, ha dedicado años al estudio del Nacionalsocialismo. Es más, gracias a sus repetidas y prolongadas estancias en Alemania, lo ha vivido personalmente. Ha conocido él Nacionalsocialismo como una manifestación político- social esencialmente alemana, que no puede ser trasplantada para su copia en otros países. Pero al mismo tiempo se ha dado cuenta de que sus efectos no pueden, ni deben, quedar limitados al pueblo alemán, pues encierran los gérmenes de un desarrollo material, espiritual y social ya evidente, cuya influencia alcanza mucho más allá de los límites de la patria.
