He has also served as the President of the American Association for Applied Linguistics. He has published widely on the history, definition, and identity of the field of second language writing and on topics such as identity and voice in writing, intercultural rhetoric, language differences, and writing program administration.Sarah Elizabeth Snyder is a PhD Candidate at Arizona State University where she specializes in second language writing and writing program administration. Sarah also served as the Associate Director of Second Language Writing at ASU. Informed by the study of second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, and rhetoric and composition, her research areas concern the intersections of second language writing and writing program assessment. She is active in national organizations such as the Symposium on Second Language Writing as well as the Council of Writing Program Administrators and their Graduate Organization, for which she has facilitated multiple mentoring and professional development events.Katherine Daily O'Meara is Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Composition and the Director of Composition at Emporia State University. Her major areas of interest include second language writing, writing program administration, rhetoric and composition/writing studies, L1 and L2 teacher training and professional development, institutional ethnography, first-year writing, and threshold concepts. Kat is an active member of the Council of Writing Program Administrators and is the outgoing Past Chair of the WPA-GO, the CWPA graduate organization.
