Relié en maroquin bleu nuit à long grain, roulette dorée, riche encadrement de plaques à froid, armories dorées au centre, dos lisse orné de motifs à froid sertis de filets dorés, dentelle intérieur, doublures et gardes de papier moiré, tranches dorées (signé Simier, relieur du Roi). Qq infimes traces d'usage, mais superbe exemplaire. Georges Onslow (1784 - 1853) compositeur français de descendence anglaise. Le colporteur est son deuxième opéra. Cet exemplaire dans une reliure somptueuse exécutée par René Simier (1772 - 1843) relieur des rois Charles X et Louis-Philippe est l'exemplaire de la duchesse de Berry, celui qui recevoit la dédicace de cet ouvrage par le compositeur. La duchesse, née en 1798 à Caserte (Italie) était marié avec le second fils du roi Charles X : Charles-Ferdinand d'Artois duc de Berry. Elle jouait un rôle important dans la restoration des Bourbons en France.
