There is a trace of wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. Very little wear otherwise. The dust jacket doesn't show much soiling at all and is not price-clipped but it does have significant wear along edges and seams including many tiny chips and tears, and a few tiny holes along one seam (probably insect damage). There is a larger chip at the top edge of the spine (about 3/4" deep). Book and dust jacket will be bubble-wrapped and carefully packed in a sturdy box to ensure safe transit.

Pers Crowell, 1910- 1965, was born in Eastern Washington and was greatly influenced by the rural geography of his small town which instilled his passion for horses. He graduated from Pasco High School and studied at the Phoenix Art Institute and later attended Chouinard's in Los Angeles. He worked at an advertising agency in Portland, Oregon, where his relationship with horses were a vital element in his daily life as well as in his artistic career and thus soon became his primary artistic subject. McGraw-Hill published his first book in 1945 and four others followed--all about horses, in addition to the illustration of forty or more stories by other authors.

This copy is in good condition with only minor wear. The covers look good with only a little wear on the faces and around the edges. The spine is tight with little wear and no creases showing on the outer spine. The pages are just starting to turn a light shade of tan and have little wear and few marks. The illustrations are great and are helpful to following the story. 122 pages.
