They lived in large towns and villages, built monumental mounds and earthworks, enjoyed rich religious and artistic achievements, and maintained a flourishing economy based on agriculture and complemented by time-honored hunting and gathering techniques. Yet they have remained relatively unknown to most scholars and laymen, in part because of a lack of collaboration between historians and anthropologists. Four Centuries of Southern Indians is a collection of nine essays which allow both historians and anthropologists to make their necessary contributions to a fuller understanding of the southern Indians. The essays span four hundred years, beginning with French and Spanish relations with the Timucuan Indians in northern Florida in the sixteenth century and ending with the modern Cherokees transported to Oklahoma. The interim topics include the social structure of the Tuscaroras of North Carolina in the eighteenth century, the role southern Indians played in the American Revolution, the removal of the southern Indians to the Indian Territory, and Cherokee beliefs about sorcery and witchcraft. This collection of essays and the cooperation between historians and anthropologists which it incorporates signify the beginning of what will undoubtedly prove a fruitful approach to the study of southern Indians. ; A very successful collection of important papers . . . The nine papers presented in Four Centuries of Southern Indians suggest the rich possibilities for research in Southeastern Indian history and culture. Prefaced with a fine introduction by Professor Hudson, the papers explore the variety of past and present issues touching the lives of many tribes.--American Indian Quarterly ; Makes a valuable contribution to the study of Indians in the South, even though the subjects are diverse and brevity militates against full development of some themes. --American Historical Review ; FINE/VG. Have you wanted to build your own intelligent systems but felt overwhelmed by complicated programming languages, confusing hardware setups, or expensive engineering courses? What if learning embedded programming and electronics could feel practical, exciting, and surprisingly approachable from the very beginning? Hands-On MicroPython Engineering for Beginners invites you into a world where hardware and software work together in powerful ways. Instead of getting lost in technical jargon or endless theory, this book speaks directly to curious learners, aspiring engineers, students, hobbyists, and innovators who want to understand how modern smart devices are truly built. Why simply use technology when you can learn to create it yourself? Have you been searching for a beginner-friendly guide that explains MicroPython in a clear and conversational way? Curious about how sensors communicate with processors? Interested in building smart systems that interact with the physical world through automation, edge intelligence, and communication protocols? This book walks you through the foundational concepts while helping you develop practical engineering confidence one step at a time. As you progress through the book, you will explore how MicroPython can simplify hardware programming without sacrificing real-world functionality. You will discover how embedded systems operate, how electronic components exchange information, and how communication protocols make modern devices responsive and intelligent. Ever wondered how IoT systems collect data? How smart sensors react instantly to environmental changes? How microcontrollers manage tasks efficiently with limited resources? The answers begin here. What makes this learning experience different? Instead of overwhelming you with unnecessary complexity, the book focuses on helping you think like an engineer. You will gradually understand how to design responsive systems, connect hardware modules, manage communication between devices, and apply edge intelligence concepts to practical electronic projects. Every concept is presented with clarity, making difficult topics easier to absorb and apply confidently. Do you dream of creating automation systems, smart home devices, robotic controls, wearable technology, or intelligent monitoring solutions? Are you interested in understanding UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO, and other hardware communication methods that power modern electronics? This guide helps bridge the gap between curiosity and real engineering capability. Even if you have never programmed a microcontroller before, this book helps you move forward with confidence. Step by step, you will develop the skills needed to work with modern embedded platforms while gaining a deeper understanding of how hardware and software interact seamlessly. You will not just memorize commands; you will learn how intelligent electronic systems are designed, controlled, and optimized in the real world. Why remain intimidated by embedded engineering when you can start building practical skills today? Why keep postponing your ideas when the tools and knowledge are now within reach? The world is rapidly moving toward smarter devices, connected systems, and intelligent automation, and this book gives you the opportunity to become part of that future. If you are ready to explore MicroPython, master hardware communication protocols, and begin building intelligent electronic systems with confidence, then this is the perfect place to start. Open the door to modern embedded engineering today and take the first step toward creating technology that truly responds to the world around it. This item is printed on demand.
