The binding and endsheets are dampstained; text toned and brittle with a short closed tear to the blank margin of the first free-flyleaf to the half-title page. The printed tissue guard for the frontispiece is lacking pieces from the edges with no loss of text. This manual discusses Pizzighelli's newly modified platinum process. Pizzighelli was brother-in-law of H.W. Vogel with whom he invented gelatin silver chloride emulsion for printing papers. M. Le Baron Hübl invented the multiple gum printing process. The frontispiece is an original platinum print; each copy in this collection has a different photo. Roosens and Salu No. 8637. OCLC locates tens copies.
