I am hard pressed to say whether this is a poetry book or an art book; my tastes favor the fine watercolors by the Artist, but I will let the new owner decide, if they can! For your consideration I am pleased to offer Compartments of the Heart, written by Gilson and illustrated with paintings by Nancy Taylor Stonington. This large book (10 x 10 inches, 40 single sided, heavy grade paper) was published by the Rohrback Publishing Co. of Seattle, dated 1982 and a First Edition (so stated). Each of the pages, whether with a poem or a painting, is presented blank on the rear. There are ten paintings created by the Artist-- outdoor natural scenes. There is a small Preface by the Author which in keeping with the simplicity of his/her presentation, appears to be simply signed as well, with just a G . Laid-in is a one-page bio-sketch about the Artist. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The only real condition issue is some bumping to the spine tips and a tiny chip out of the finish along the spine. There is some darkening to the top ¾ inch of the laid-in bio-sketch about the Artist. Otherwise, the book is unmarked and unblemished in any way and the pages and plates are clean and bright. The hinges are fully intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.

The date 24 April is commemorated as Genocide Remembrance Day by Armenians around the world. On that date in 1915 several hundred Armenian intellectuals were rounded up, arrested and later executed. Almost all Armenians are Christians of their own Apostolic Church founded in the first century A.D. Armenia was among the earliest of Christian civilizations. Armenia, population 3 million, is the smallest of the former Soviet republics. There are more than 90 full-page color photographs many of them historical sites and each has a short dual language description. Example : Etchmiadzin cathedral is one of the oldest churches in the world. It was originally built by Saint Gregory the Illuminator as a vaulted basilica in 301.
