Hardcover. Condizione: Fair. No Jacket. 4th Edition. this book is bound in brown boards with gilt letters on the spine & front cover + a gilt design on the front cover. There is heavy wear on the spine tips and spine edges. There is wear on the cover corners. The front & back hinges are beginning to crack. The binding is still tight. There is a previous owner's ink signature on the front end paper. There are 15 of 15 plates + the frontispiece in the text all clean.

Photographic portrait frontispiece; 15 engraved plates, though only 14 called for. Sadly the Map seems to be missing. Small labels of W L Taylor, bookbinder, bookseller and stationer, Peterhead, and Bound by Burn & Co. Generally quite clean and nice.
