While everyone welcomes the new opportunities that have emerged because of globalization one cannot simply leave a number of negative elements unattended. On the other hand, communities can also be enriched by globalization when new ideas and experiences are critically adapted taking into consideration the refinement of the core values of a community. Therefore, the main task of this book is to understand and analyze globalization at best toharness its benefits and keep those negative consequences away from marginalized communities.ÒWe create our own realitiesÓ. The research papers presented in this volume that have emerged from the recent international conference held in Hyderabad attempt to analyze the problems and also suggestions through which marginalized communities can be made to get the advantages of the globalization process and create their ownrealities so as to come closer to the main stream of Indian society. About the Author:- Dr. Gnanapragasam Lazar was a student of Prof. Stephen Fuchs the eminent Anthropologist of Vienna Circle of Anthropology. Dr. Lazar has obtained his M. A. in Philosophy, in the University of Poona (1986) and furthered his studies in Anthropology at the University of Lancaster, England where he obtained M.A., M.Phil., and then Ph.D (1994). Apart from his regular teaching, conducting inter-religious dialogue meetings and research, he has published four books, 40 research papers and edited 9 books in Anthropology, Sociology and World Religions. He was also a visiting Research Fellow at Yara University, Melbourne, Australia. He is the Founder Director of SANSKRUTI (Institute of Dravidian Culture and Research). Currently he is the President of Asia Pacific Mission and Research (ASPAMIR). Prof. N. Sudhakar Rao has M.A. (Anthropology) and M. A. (English Literature) from S.V. University, Tirupati, and also another M.A and Ph.D (1993) in Anthropology from the University of Rochester, USA. He started his career as a Research Assistant for the research project, ÒYanadi Action Research ProjectÓ of IndianSpace Research Organization's SHAR Centre, Sriharikota (1976-81), and worked as a Senior Investigator with National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Government of India (1981-1988). He was also a visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Development Studies in the University of Bergen, Norway (1995) and Associate Professor and Administrator for TALEEM Research Foundation (1995-1999). He has the honour of working as a Professor and Head of Department in Department of Sociology, also the Registrar in the same University of Assam Central University, Silchar (1999-2005). Above all he has served as Professor and Head, Department of Anthropology in the University of Hyderabad (2005-12) besides serving as Director for the Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, University of Hyderabad (2007-09). He has carried out researches among the Sugali, Yanadi, Gond, Yerukala, Bagatha, Nakka, and Pardhi tribes besides urban and rural communities in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Gujarat. Further he had also has the credit of supervising over nineteen M.Phil and eightPh.D researches. Apart from publishing four books he has also published thirty five research papers in reputed national and international journals.
