He painstakingly relates them to the different theoretical attempts evolved by scholars to try to make sense of the contradictions, and then makes an utterly compelling case for the one system that makes rational sense of all the data. This matter is of more than academic interest, since it is directly related to the fact that Islam is not a type of middle eastern myth - as New Testament Christianity and Old Testament Judaism are increasingly regarded by modern man - but a clearly historical phenomenon whose revelation - the Qur'an - and whose practice - the Sunnah - derive directly from the Messenger of Allah (saw), one revealed from on high by the Divine and the other the embodiment by the Messenger and his noble family and companions of that revelation under the careful guidance of Allah. According to the author the Prophet (S) migrated on 21 June 622 AD, his youngest son passed away on a solar eclipse 3rd August 631 and Age of the wife of the Prophet (S) Ayesha (RA) was 19 years at the time of cohabitation.

The resources consulted included forty-seven books authored by earlier saints. The book offers a detailed scholarly study of all the spiritual lineages and the life accounts of the great Sufi shaikhs of the time and proves that the beliefs, teachings and practices of the shaikhs were in complete conformity with the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Noble Prophet (P.B.U.H). The book thus confirms that the practices in the Sufi way of reaching gnosis and Truth are not of later inventions and also puts an end to all criticism that Sufism owed its origin to external sources. This English translation is rendered from the Urdu version by Tehzeebunnisa Begum disciple (murid) of the blessed spiritual guide (murshid), Maulana Hazrat Wahid Bakhsh Sial Rabbani (r.a.), who had translated it to Urdu from the original Farsi (Persian). The credit of acquiring the original manuscript of Mirratul Asrar goes to Hazrat Shahidullah Faridi (r.a.) who obtained through his personal efforts, a copy of the original Farsi (Persian) treatise from the British Museum and which was then translated into Urdu by Hazrat Wahid Bakhsh Sial Rabbani (r.a.) over a period of seven years. It was through the efforts of these two Khalifa's of His Eminence Hazrat Shah Syed Mohammed Zauqi (r.a.), one of the most distinguished Muslim saints of the Indian Subcontinent in the 20th century, that this treasure has been made available to the seekers of Truth.
