Condizione: Gut. XII, 432 (von 438) Seiten. Letzte Lage fehlend! First edition. - Very scarce. - Not in BMGC, but one copy in British Library Catalogue. - OCLC 15468438. - Without the last 6 pages (subscribers names), which are added in xerocopy. - Binding rubbed and bumped, joints cracked. Head and end of spine and inner hinges repaired by scotch tape (not that professionally, but acceptable). The limp paper (due to quailty) browned and foxed. Endpapers with little defects and entries in ink and pencil. Over all still good, but not brilliant copy in original leather binding. - The Scottish minister James Renwick (1662-1688), 'the last Covenanter martyr', "was sentenced to die by hanging. The sentence was carried out on 17 February 1688, in the Grassmarket, Edinburgh [.] Before the year was out, the Stuarts were in exile, and persecutions was closed. He died as the herald of a more gracious day" (cf. Wikipedia). - The further authors mentioned on title were leading Covenanters, too. Foreword by John MacMillan, son of the Rev. John MacMillan of Edinburgh. - Prominent subscriber's list at the end of the book. - Cochrane, Library W. Scott 73. - Don't hesitate to ask for further informations.
