Letters are to his wife in Gonzales, Mrs. Callie Jones Badger. Cavalry Company D was detached from the main Legion and served primarily in northern Mississippi. One of the letters gives a vivid description of his participation in the famous cavalry raid on the Union supply depot at Holly Springs. Other letters describe his movement in the Tippah, Coldwater, Charleston, Coffeeville, Grenada, Yazoo City, Panola and Warrenton areas." ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 74 pages.
