Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. A true story of faith, compassion, and miracles that span generations.Jeni and the Mustard Seed is a heartfelt journey that begins in 1950s Atlanta and unfolds across 75 years from a little girl's final days in a cancer home to the extraordinary, unexplained events that connect her spirit to future generations. When a young girl named Mary Anne passes away at 12 years of age, her story seems to end but her presence lingers in mysterious and miraculous ways. Twenty years later, on Christmas Eve of 1974, her spirit makes itself known again through an innocent child and a simple baby doll with a broken eye. Whether coincidence or miracle, what happens next touches hearts and challenges beliefs. As time passes, the story reawakens again decades later in New Albany, Ohio reminding us that love and faith never truly fade. Through moments of grace, compassion, and divine mystery, author Richard E. Whitelock shares a deeply moving account that will stir your soul and renew your belief in the extraordinary. A moving true story of faith, love, and unexplainable wonder. Perfect for readers who believe in miracles, compassion, and the power of divine connection. This item is printed on demand. Hardcover. Condizione: new. Hardcover. The periodluminosity relation (PLR) is an important relationship between the fundamental physical properties of many types of variable stars. Most recognisable is the PLR of Cepheids, which allows classical Cepheids to be used as primary distance indicators, establishing the traditional cosmic distance scale. Well-defined relationships also exist between the periods and luminosities of many other types of pulsating stars. IAU Symposium 376 discusses recent observational and theoretical results achieved by the continued, detailed scrutiny of the PLR, including its shape, calibration and dependence on stellar parameters and chemical abundances. Intrinsic PLR widths may offer unique insights into the physical processes shaping these relations and the underlying physical properties of the stars contributing to these relationships. This topic is timely, given the wealth of data recently obtained using state-of-the-art ground- and space-based facilities, high-impact Gaia data releases and the initial operations of the James Webb Space Telescope. Many types of variable stars obey strict relationships between their pulsation periods and brightnesses. The contributions in this volume offer significant new insights from a wealth of recent observations into the periodluminosity relations governing pulsating variables and their implications for the cosmic distance scale. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability. …
