Through a series of approximations the author effectively separates starlight, zodiacal light, and the airglow continuum. By making use of previous star count integrations, the author is also able to present a revised integrated starlight intensity map for the Milky Way. The study concludes with a particularly in-depth discussion on the galactic light, a component of the night sky that is still not fully understood.
