Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. First Edition. Hardcover with scarce DJ, First Edition 1943 Grosset & Dunlap 214 pages. Near Fine, in a VG DJ. Just a touch of shelf/edge wear to tan cloth boards with dark blue titles - corners sharp. Lightly faded black topstain. Just a touch of shelf/edge wear and and one small chip to original unclipped DJ - now in mylar. (DJ lists to this title). Orange and white illustrated endpapers. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked and toned (wartime paper). Illustrations for DJ and frontispiece by I. B. Hazelton. This copy is Binding variant 2 per Mattson, Format 2 per Axe. (tan cloth, plain frontispiece). This is the 20th (and last) book of the 20 books in the Ted Scott Series, and is hard to find in collectible condition. This is the nicest copy I've seen in 30 years. The Ted Scott Flying Stories was a series of juvenile aviation adventures created by the Stratemeyer Syndicate using the pseudonym of Franklin W. Dixon (also used for The Hardy Boys) and published almost exclusively by Grosset & Dunlap. The novels were produced between 1927 and 1943. The principal author was John W. Duffield, who also contributed to the Don Sturdy and Bomba the Jungle Boy series. Per AAC Boys Series Books by Axe, pg 53,54 and Mattson 56900. A superb wartime First Edition that looks great in the original DJ. LOC SSS-12.
