Irina Wragge Morley (née Platonoff, 1918-1974) was a lover of Russell's in the late 1940s; her husband Derek was a lover of Russell's third wife "Peter". Irina married secondly, in 1953, the biochemist Leonard Hubert Stickland. "My dear Irina," writes Russell, 8 March 1953, "How exciting that you are going to be married! Your prospective husband has my warmest congratulations. I don't know him, so I can't tell how much you are to be congratulated . . . I have announced publicly that, having devoted my first 80 years to philosophy, I propose to devote the next 80 to another branch of fiction. Don't imagine that you will become a frump in Leeds. Perhaps you will meet Sir John Barron, who used to kneel at his bedside & say long prayers when I shared a room with him in 1892." The pamphlet was also issued in yellow and in blue wrappers; Russell's bibliographers Blackwell, Ruja and Turcon suggest that the edition was of "not more than 100" copies.
