Es basiert - laut dem Theaterhistoriker Wilhelm Pfeiffer-Belli - auf dem einzigen 1927 nachweisbaren Exemplar (aus der Louis-Schneider-Samm…lung der Preußischen Staatsbibliothek), weshalb er die Dramaturgie in seinem Nachwort als "Unicum" bezeichnet. - H. W. Seyfried (1755-1800), mit Goethe befreundeter Schauspieler, Prinzipal einer Liebhaberbühne in Frankfurt, Autor mehrerer Bühnenstücke, Gedichte u. Essays über das Theater, schildert in Briefform den Eindruck, den die Vorstellungen der Großmann-Hellmuth'schen Gesellschaft bei drei jeweils unterschiedlich alten und sehr verschieden gebildeten Personen hinterlassen (drei Damen und drei Herren). Im Anhang ein Verzeichnis des Repertoires der Theatergruppe zur Herbstmesse 1780, ein Schauspielerverzeichnis und zwei fiktive Briefe einer Person aus der Dramaturgie, die hier vom Hessischen ins Hochdeutsche übersetzt wurden. ".das Buch (hat) etwas einzigartiges und unterscheidet sich sehr zu seinem Vorteil von gleichzeitigen Theaterschriften" (Nachw.) - Heinrich Wilhem Pfeiffer (1755-1800), der zunächst Jura studiert, sich dann aber auf das Theater geworfen hatte, verfaßte Schauspiele, Rezensionen und zahlreiche, weitere theaterbezogene Schriften und arbeitete als Schauspieler (u.a. bei der Gesellschaft, deren Aufführungen die Dramaturgie zum Thema hat). - Manuldruck durch F.
