Glipizide is a class-II drug which is poorly soluble. So the solubility… of the drug is enhanced by solid dispersion using solvent evaporation method. Drug and carrier in different ratios like 1: 1, 1: 2, 1: 3 by keeping drug weight constant. The prepared solid dispersions were evaluated for their routine tests like Phase solubility, Invitro dissolutoion study and the results were observed and tabulated. FT-IR study was also done for drug, polymers and 1: 3 ratios of drug: carrier by KBr pelleting method. From the study it was confirmed that no physical interactions were found. Also from the study it was concluded that 1: 3 ratio of drug:carrier shows better phase solubility and invitro dissolution rate.

The binding properties of both gums were evalu…ated in relation to conventional binder like guar gum, gelatin, Sod.CMC .Increase in concentration of filtered and defatted C. roxburghii gum, M.oleifera gum from 2% to 6%; decrease the percentage of fine, increase the hardness, increase the disintegration time, decrease the percentage of friability and decrease % cumulative release. Hence Paracetamol tablets were formulated using combination of (1% C.rox+1%M.oleifera) binding concentration and evaluated. Results indicates that Paracetamol tablets prepared with 2 % ( 1% C. roxburghii + 1% M. oleifera) of mucilage were found to be ideal for the preparation of uncoated tablet formulation when high mechanical strength is more essential and hence these gums shows better tabletting characteristics and have high potentials for the substitution for more expensive binders.
