In August 1945, Edward, Duke of Windsor, made a visit to the United States at the close of the Second World War while still serving as Governor of the Bahamas. Very good in a good dust jacket with a slight lean to the text block, and chipping to the dust jacket with losses to the flap hinges. Together with a first edition of The Heart Has Its Reasons, the autobiography of Wallis Simpson. Octavo, original publisher's half-cloth, top stain green, illustrated with 32 pages of black and white photographs. Signed by the Duchess of Windsor on the half-title page, "With love and admiration from Wallis." Near fine in a good dust jacket with chipping, creasing, losses to the spine, and tape repairs to the verso. Desirable.
