Presumed first edition (no direct statement provided). 1-48, [1-52] pages. Hardcover: H 19.5cm x L 13.25cm. Reddish-brown cloth with some soiling and staining; rippling/bubbling to cloth at front board's bottom third; spine ends bumped/scuffed; beveled board edges bumped and worn at their fore-edge corners; gilt stamping at spine heel and front board remains fairly bright. All edges gilt. Front free endpaper removed. Unpaged b/w frontispiece portrait of Joseph Kent Gibbons with tissue guard sheet. Some foxing to interior pages. Binding is firm. Biography of Joseph Kent Gibbons with samples of his poetry; Gibbons died in the Civil War while serving in Company G, 34th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment. Unpaged rear section (52 pages) of publisher advertisements comprise second half of book.
