The author, a Soviet Jew and teacher at the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages, sent an open letter to LIFE magazine in response to an article published in the December 7, 1959 issue titled, "New Agony for Russian Jews: Anti-Semitic Drive Brings Suppression and Violence." LIFE refused to print the response, which was subsequently printed in the Jewish Morning Freiheit. In essence, Frey refutes the notion that state-sanctioned anti-Semitism exists in the Soviet Union. Frey's views were aligned with the Communist Party USA who published this pamphlet. Stapled wrappers (7 ¼" x 4 ¾"), 16 p. A near fine copy.
