En este contexto, se ha realizado un estudio para evaluar la eficacia de algunos de estos programas gubernamentales y su impacto en los medios de vida de las personas en Birbhum, distrito de Bengala Occidental (India). Sin embargo, la mera diversidad de esos planes y las diferencias en su procedimiento contable y en la gestión de los fondos, junto con los diversos niveles de aplicación, suelen complicar la ejecución al hacer que el sistema sea engorroso.
