The only issue of the almanac for Munich University, prepared to celebrate its new location with extensive information on the opening ceremonies, staff, students, library etc. Particularly striking are the lithographs decorating the boards, illustrating the university seals on the upper board and part of the university buildings on the lower board, and the frontispiece portrait by the German painter andlithographer Franz Xaver Winterhalder (1805-1873), best known for his flattering portraits of royalty and upper-class society in the mid-19th century.
