Johann Gaspar Spurzheim (1776-1832) was a German physician who expanded upon Franz Joseph Gall's system of phrenology. The text largely consists of Spurzheim analyzing the features of prominent historical figures and discussing what their physical features communicate about their character. Spurzheim also provides biographies, using their accomplishments or failures to support his assessments. Not in Corns & Sparke. Nonetheless, Part I is all that was published. …
