Although the title page states Part 1, this was all that was published, 34 plates complete. Sporadic foxing,front board detached as is the edge of the spine to the front board.… Some archival tape secures the spine from further damage. Spine label present and shows the price of £1 and 2 shillings. Books are exempt from US tariffs.

Johann Gas…par Spurzheim (1776-1832) was a German physician who expanded upon Franz Joseph Gall's system of phrenology. The text largely consists of Spurzheim analyzing the features of prominent historical figures and discussing what their physical features communicate about their character. Spurzheim also provides biographies, using their accomplishments or failures to support his assessments. Not in Corns & Sparke. Nonetheless, Part I is all that was published.
