These maps had several faults including not showing on the maps places mentioned in the text; maps turned sideways on the page, or with the printing vertical, causing the reader to twist either his head or the book to read the map; no listing of maps in the Index or Table of Contents; maps with no scale of miles; and maps with no directional arrows.
