Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. What if fairy tales had to obey modern logic? In Unhappily After: Collected Edition (Parts 1-3), classic fairy tales are stripped of romance, destiny, and comforting lies. What remains are razor-sharp, ultra-short retellings for adults who have always suspected that magic doesn't solve structural problems, love doesn't guarantee stability, and happily-ever-after usually requires paperwork.Little Red Riding Hood faces inconvenient realities.Cinderella discovers that transformation has consequences.Sleeping Beauty's awakening isn't as simple as it sounds.Snow White's rescue raises uncomfortable questions.Hansel and Gretel learn that survival can have side effects. These dark, dry, modern reinterpretations revisit familiar stories through the lens of bureaucracy, capitalism, logic, and uncomfortable common sense. Characters are painfully aware of their own narratives. Villains consult policy. Princes negotiate terms. Witches understand market forces.Magic doesn't fix anything.Romance doesn't override liability. And "forever" is mostly administrative. This collected edition brings together Parts 1-3 in one volume, featuring dozens of compact, absurd, and relentlessly logical fairy-tale retellings. Each story is ultra-short, designed to be read in minutes, but sharp enough to linger long after the punchline lands. What to Expect: - Ultra-short flash fiction (most stories under 300 words)- Dark humor and dry satire- Classic fairy tales derailed by modern logic- Recurring characters and subtle continuity across stories- Themes of bureaucracy, consent, capitalism, and moral lazinessNo moral. No comforting magic. No guaranteed redemption.Just fairy tales getting exactly what they deserve.
