Flexible covers. This is a typed manuscript on onion-skin paper; bound in a two-hole card-cover binder. Mimeographed sheets; not the original typescript. It is undated, but likely done somewhere between 1959 and 1963; and is likely the basis for Tegtmeyer's memoir, published in 2015. Tegtmeyer served in a medical battalion during the entirety of WW2, and was highly decorated. It covers Tegtmeyer's experience throughout WW2; in North Africa, Italy, France & Germany (including D-Day). Appears detailed & well-written. Laid in at the rear is a 10-page proposal to turn the publication into a television program. Also typed/mimeographed on onion-skin paper. This was likely produced by Oppenheimer (he apparently headed TV and movie production for the Army Pictorial Center at this time. This smaller document is dated 10 July, 1963. The binder has some rubbing and soil. The handwritten paper label on the front cover is worn (but the title is unaffected). The pages are a bit age-toned - mostly at the edges. The pages for Book II, Chapter III (~20 pages) are photocopies bound in, and are age-toned/darkened. The laid-in TV concept pages are also a bit more age-toned. There are a few scattered notes for corrections. Else the pages are clean. An early copy of a fascinating manuscript by a decorated Doctor/Soldier.; 27; 10-1/2" x8"; 605 pages.
