This is a genealogical researcher's dream! It is a 29 1/2 by 36" topographical wall map of Tamworth, NH. It shows all landmarks of the typical topo map and more.bodies of water, historical sites, elevations, mountains, hills, roads by name, churches, town buildings, Ordination Rock, Quaker areas, Mt Chocorua, cemeteries, Ossipee Mountains and best of all, the names of the home owners beneath each dwelling . The map was made for the benefit of The District Nurse by the Tekton Associates in August of 1932. These maps were invaluable so that visiting nurses could find their patients. Eighty years later some of the properties are still recognizable as being in the same family! All the roads are the same and public buildings still t Since some nurses' patients lived in outlying parts of town or in bordering towns, the following adjacent areas are on the map: Center Sandwich, North Sandwich, Whiteface, Wonalancet, Albany, Madison, Silver Lake, Ossipee and Moultonboro. Around the perimeter of the map are smaller inserts with more detail of concentrated areas: Center of Tamworth, Moultonboro, South Tamworth, West Ossipee, Madison, Silver Lake and Chocorua.
