The front cover is detached, but remains in place with a clear, removable protective plastic wrap. Else, a lovely copy, mostly uncut. Title continues: " . Under The Auspices Of The Lincoln Centennial Association And Illinois Centennial Commission, At The State Armory In Springfield, Illinois, the Twelfth Day Of February, Nineteen Hundred And Eighteen." Book commemorates Lincoln's 109th birthday. Contains an 1864 letter from the Governor of Kansas, Thomas Carney, written to President Lincoln, and the text of Lincoln's strident rebuke.One address printed here is that by Thomas Power O'Connor, MP, a figure in the Irish nationalist movement, and an author-journalist. Also contains an address by William Renwick Riddell, Canadian lawyer and Justice on the Supreme Court of Ontario. This issue of the annual "Addresses" is particularly uncommon. Scarce.
