Book shows external wear, with small tears at top/bottom of spine, to front/rear spine edges, and at outside corners of boards. Covers display mild rubbing. Binding is sound. Old inscription in pencil appears on front flyleaf. Pages 25 and 26 have been excised. Pages exhibit occasional light foxing. A small number of pages have small, closed tears to bottom edge. Work contains numerous textual illustrations and vignettes by the complier. Encompasses 143 Rhymes. Most are one or two to a page with varied decorative borders and lovely small engravings. Some longer ballads and many unfamiliar rhymes and variants have been collected.
