Covers are soiled and rust spot near one of the staples. One inch chip missing from top of spine, browning to the pages. 55 pages in total. Presumably this is the first edition. Although there are a number of microfilm copies located on OCLC only two of the booklet - one at Fort Lewis College, Colorado and the other at Harvard University in Boston. Quite scarce and a nice piece of promotional literature for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. A nice item of railroad memorabilia.

A promotional booklet published by the Missouri Pacific Railway to encourage settlement in Nebraska. Information is provided on the history of the state, climate, rainfall, lakes, springs, rivers of Nebraska, population, soil meteorology, churches and schools, grasses, crops, stock raising, sugar beet culture, horticulture, apple crop, poultry and eggs, dairy, tobacco, etc. Distances from Lincoln, Nebraska to any point in the state are provided. The altitudes for towns and cities are given. An interesting population map of Nebraska by counties is of interest. Large folded map of Nebraska affixed to rear cover is in fine condition. A rare railroad promotional housed in a cloth clam shell case with titles stamped in gold on the spine.

Colour-illustrated softcovers (minor edgewear, rubbing, old discrete tape repair to inner spine), still VG- copy. First edition of this very scarce railroad passenger guide to the St. Louis Worlds Fair, Louisiana Purchase Exposition, offering photos of the exhibits and attractions. As depicted on the large folding map, the Louisiana Purchase Exposition spread over 1200 acres, and incorporated education into all aspects of the exhibitors. Founded originally in 1835, the Boston & Maine Railroad expanded through New England, with subsidiary connections into the Great Lakes, and Midwest by the 1904 World's Fair, and continued to expand ridership until after World War I. Worldcat locates 1 copy (Northwestern).
