Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Dorothy Todd (illustratore). New edition. This is a reprint edition of this Victorian children's novel first published in 1875. The author, full name Dinah Maria Mulock Craik (she wrote under Mulock or Craik) is best known for her 1857 novel, "John Halifax, Gentleman". Illustrated with eight line drawings by Dorothy Todd (the first edition had different illustrations). This copy is in yellow cloth, but a number of different bindings were used. The book is undated with various dates from 1920 to 1935 being attributed to it. I think that The Goldsmith Publishing Company of Chicago was a short-lived enterprise that lasted only from about 1931 to 1939, so let's go with the 1935 option. The bottom edges here have noticeable shelf wear, and the edges of the textblock are slightly browned, but a very good, clean and tight copy.
