A strong anthology of prison authors well represented staring with Songs of Prison Plantations moving through Jack London, Agnes Smedley, Chester Himes, Malcolm X, George Jackson, Etheridge Knight, William Wantling, Jackie Ruzas, Edward Bunker, Charles Culhane, Kathy Boudin, Umia Abu-Jamal. An incredible anthology. Only becomes stonger as years go by. Inscribed by Chuck Culhane and a friend in the prison movement to his close friend Janine Pommy Vega, the poet, on the opening flyleaf. Correctly stated by Culhane that Janine was a friend and mentor. Close to fine and bright pictorial stiff wraps with crisp text.
