Paperback. Condizione: New. One of the most explosive and hidden secrets in U.S. history - one that has never been previously told, Remember the Liberty explores how a sitting U.S. president collaborated with Israeli leaders in the fomentation of a war between them and their Arab neighbors. A war that would ensure a victory for Israel, and include the acquisition of additional land. This book will finally identify the real cause of the vicious attack on a U.S. Naval ship. After the botched plan was executed, the ship refused to sink even after being hit by a torpedo, leading the attack to be cancelled and a massive cover-up invoked. Including severe threats for the crewmembers to "keep their lips sealed." That cover-up is barely still in place, and completely exposed. Written largely by the survivors themselves, the truth is finally being told with the real story revealed.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - Phil Tourney provides an eyewitness account of Israel's 1967 attack on the USS Liberty. While patrolling in international waters in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea on June 8, 1967, the unarmed, intelligence-gathering vessel confronted an enemy they never expected: Israel. In an unprovoked and vicious attack, unmarked Israeli jets pounded the Liberty with cannon fire, rockets, and napalm, while the American crew tried to make sense of what was happening, as their friends and shipmates were blown apart by the Zionist state's weaponry. After the jets murdered nine helpless Americans, Israeli motor torpedo boats (MTBs) moved in for the kill, firing machine guns and launching five torpedoes, with one hitting its mark, instantly blasting apart 25 Liberty crewmen. The MTBs continued firing upon the damaged ship, hoping the hit the boilers, as those aboard were unsure if they were on their way to a watery grave, as the massive hole in the Liberty continued to let tons seawater in. Expending their ammunition, the MTBs retreated, and a new, armed adversary approached the stricken vessel: Israeli troop helicopters with commandos aboard to finish the job. All the while, the nearby U.S. Sixth Fleet, hearing the Liberty's cries for help, launched fighter aircraft, only to be recalled by the White House.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - On June 8, 1967, the virtually unarmed USS Liberty (AGTR-5), the U.S. Navy's most sophisticated spy ship, while monitoring communications in international waters in the eastern Mediterranean during the Six-Day War-to find out if the Soviet Union was assisting its Arab client states-was viciously attacked by unmarked Israeli jets and marked Israeli motor torpedo boats. The unprovoked, premeditated assault murdered 34 young American boys and wounded 174, out of a crew of 294, an almost 71% casualty rate. The ship took nearly 1,000 cannon and rocket holes-some the size of basketballs-as well as over 5,000 armor-piercing shells, through the skin of the vessel. The Israelis dropped napalm on the defenseless ship and shot at sailors attempting to rescue the wounded and put out fires, as well as firing on all the remaining life rafts, a war crime.Caught in the act after a Liberty SOS was picked up by the USS Saratoga (CV-60) hundreds of miles away conducting drills with other vessels of the Sixth Fleet, Israel claimed the massacre was an 'accident,' a case of 'mistaken identity,' a lie none of the survivors could ever believe. The truth is the Saratoga broadcast a message 'in the clear' after they scrambled 12 F-4 fighter bombers to come to the aid of Liberty. Sadly, help never arrived, as these jets and another sortie were recalled by none other than the President of the United States, who initiated a cover-up that lasts to this day.Find out the whole story of this national disgrace in the pages of Erasing the Liberty: The Battle to Keep Alive the Memory of Israel's Massacre on the USS Liberty.…
