Bound in contemporary uniform full mottled calf, raised gilt spine with double title labels. double gilt fillets on both covers, marbled endpapers; edges painted blue. Ninding with some traces of use. Upper outer joint of volume 2 weal and partly broken with the loss of leather at the top. Interior very fine and stainless, printed on strong paper. Still a fine copy. With the rubber stamp ex-libris of V.F. Lambinet. First edition of the first Italian translation of Winkelmann. It is preceded with a 54 pp eulogy by Heyse.
