Prima edizione
First edition. Tall stab-stapled softcover 4to in black wrappers. With varying page sizes, some of which are mimeographed, and a few offset printed. Featuring several tipped in items, including two small silk screened posters, and a large piece of photostat film with an abstract pattern. 58 pp. Text Italian, English, and German. Issue no. 1 of this Italian avant-garde artists' magazine edited by Eugenio Miccini. Tèchne was established as a response to commercial publishing with its assembled nature and featured both artistic and political contributions by a global network of artists in the late '60s and early '70s. This issue with contributions by experimental and concrete poets, writers, and artists from around the world, including Bianca Garinei, John Cage, Luigi Ferro, Piere Luigi Tazzi, Egidio Mucci, Mario and Maria Luisa Santella, the Spanish avant-garde collective 'poesia n.o.' which at the time included Julio Campal, Juan Carlos Aberasturi, José Antonio Cáceres, Enrique Uribe, Jokín Díez, Fernando Millán, Francisco J. Zabala, and Jesús García Sánchez, Franco Vaccari, Michele Perfetti, Nicola Andreace, Gruppo Stanza, Umberto Eco, and Eugenio Miccini among others. Very good overall given its assembled nature, with wear along extremities, rubbing to covers, bumps to corners, a small closed tear at left margin of back cover, and two faint stains at front cover which have penetrated the first two pages. With partial darkening to back cover and age toning throughout on account of the paper quality, save for signatures printed on better paper.
