The volume has the bookplate of John Maurice Hawkins on the front paste down, else is neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. In its original glossy dust wrapper, a little bumped at edges with a heavier bump along the front upper edge, very slightly sunned over spine. John Hawkins (1939-2020) was a well-known local historian with a strong interest in military history, a founding member of the Bognor Regis Local History Society and at one time curator of its museum.
