There are a number of black-and-white images scattered throughout the 211 page volume which includes text, formulae and process for working with stone, clay, wood, and metals, as well as, covering the use and production of colors from nature. This volume includes the introduction to both the First and Second edition of this book. The tan color boards and interior of the book are clean and bright, and without rips, tears, highlighting, or marks. The top edge is a bit darkened and the spine ends while stiff are bent. The corners are sharp. The dust wrapper is soiled and has some small tears along the edges. The dust jacket is now protected by a clear removable cover.

Otherwise few signs of wear or fading / discoloration to cover. The corners remain sharp. Deckled fore edge. The binding is square and tight. A bookseller sticker from Hathaway House Bookshop, Wellesley, remains affixed to front free end paper. Pages are age toned but clean and unmarked. Signed by Author(s).
