The author provides substantial evidence to support the efficacy of the Causticaire method over existing techniques, demonstrating that it provides a more rapid, practical, and accurate test of fiber maturity. This method has been found to furnish more significant evaluations of fiber maturity and fineness, particularly in the case of cottons possessing relatively large or small percentages of thin-walled fibers and of those possessing comparatively small or large values for fiber weight per inch.
