Walter Grässli Geboren 1943, in Werdenberg SG. Lehre als Maler, Dekorations- und Schriftenmaler. Sein Weg verläuft zuerst autodidaktisch. Die notwendigen Grundlagen das, was man in einem Vorkurs an einer Schule für Gestaltung lernt bringt er sich selbst bei. Es folgt ein Aufenthalt in Paris, wo er sich als Student an der Kunstakademie (Ecole supérieure nationale des Beaux-Arts) einschreibt. Anschliessend hält er sich einige Zeit in London auf, wo er die Villa eines jüdischen Millionärs restauriert. Zurück in der Schweiz, arbeitet er frei als Werbe-Gestalter. Ein Unterrichtspraktikum am Kinderdorf Pestalozzi Trogen zeigt seine Begabung als Lehrer. In der Folge absolviert Walter Grässli die Ausbildung zum Lehrer für Bildnerisches Gestalten an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) und schliesst mit dem Diplom für das Höhere Lehramt für Bildnerisches Gestalten ab (Gymnasiallehrer). Intensive Weiterbildung an der Universität Zürich. Grässli unterrichtet 35 Jahre lang als Lehrer an der Kantonsschule Wattwil, parallel dazu auch einige Zeit an der ZHdK (Farbenlehre). In dieser Zeit findet auch einige Jahre lang eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit Kunstgeschichte (Universität Zürich) und mit der Theorie der Farbe statt. Parallel dazu zahlreiche Ausstellungen im In- und Ausland und die Veröffentlichung mehrerer Publikationen (Quelle: Graesslihomepage). Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 300.
