Staining at upper fore-edge a…nd adjacent top edge corner with pages 145 onward to rear free endpaper varyingly affected at their top corner margins (stronger on rear leaves but diminishing inward); interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Laid-in at front endpapers is a folded promotional sheet/order form for book. With frontispiece, b/w photographs and illustrations, Acknowledgements, Introduction, Appendix, Bibliography, Notes, and Index. Seven-line ink presentation inscription from Jesse White, a member of the book's editorial committee, at foot of title page citing his mentions within the text with then associated ink notes/marks on pages vii, 11, 26, 29, and 155 (evidently the inscriber is Dr. Jesse Stevens White Jr., 1917-1997, who was a biology professor and Department Head at Delta State University); interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Laid-in at pages 84-85 is two-sided paper bookmark from The Cleveland Centennial Book Committee; also laid-in at rear endpapers is book's folded promotional sheet which has some staining/soiling and edge nicks.
