N to 24.degree. N latitude) of the California-Baja California continental borderland. Leucine enantiomeric ratios in specimens of the bivalve Chione cf. undatella from the Magdalena Terrace, compared with ratios predicted by a kinetic model for 120,000 yr samples with constant (modern) diagenetic temperature, indicate slight paleotemperature reductions (1-2.degree.
