Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. THE LIVING STAGE HISTORY OF WORLD THEATER MACGOWAN & MELNITZ 1955 2ND PRINTING. If you are a student of theater or have any interest in the history of the theater arts, then this book belongs on your bookshelf. I am pleased to offer a nice copy of an even more nicely made hard cover, titled: "The Living Stage A History of the World Theater," by Kenneth Macgowan and William Melnitz, both of the Theater Arts department at the University of California, Los Angeles. This large hard cover book (6 ¾ x 9 ¾ inches, 543 pages) was published by Prentice-Hall of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, dated November 1955, the Second Printing (so stated). The book is bound in black cloth with attractive red and gilt decorations and titles on cover and spine. The book is very well illustrated throughout including 50 drawings by Gerda Becker. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are clean and bright and the attractive titling and decorations still very handsome. There has been some very minor bumping to the corners and spine tips. Inside, a former owner has left his neat and distinctive bookplate on the front endpaper but this is the only mark I found in the book. The pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
Paper Back. Condizione: Very Good. Pages are very clean and bright with no markings. Minor rubbing to the edges and corners. Binding is fine. Cream colored paper wraps.
