Prima edizione
Presumed first edition (no publisher imprint provided). Unpaged - approx. 59 pages. Hardcover: H 22.75cm x L 15cm. Missing the glassine/acetate dust jacket with which it was issued. Pale greenish-blue cloth soiled and stained; some scuffing/bumping at spine ends and board corners; slight dulling to front board's gilt stamping. Lacks front free endpaper with old tape repair along hinge reinforcing binding from ffep's removal. Light toning to front pastedown and on opposing title page as well as to rear endpapers; a few short stray ink marks on front pastedown and rear free endpaper; margin toning and a few spots of soiling to early leaves but overall interior text pages are clean. Noting the aforementioned tape repair along front hinge binding is otherwise firm. Poems by Greensboro, Alabama-born author who was raised at her family's landmark antebellum mansion Magnolia Grove and who attended Newcomb College and resided her adult life in Hammond, Louisiana with her son James H. Morrison serving in U.S. House of Representatives on behalf of Louisiana's 6th District from 1943-1967. {Poetry-Shelf#3}.

Editore: Natchez, MS: Tom L. Ketchings Company, [no date - circa 1940]., 1940
Da: David Hallinan, Bookseller, Columbus, MS, U.S.A.
Poor condition. Oblong paperback publication staple-bound with additional cloth saddle-stitch; missing front and rear covers; fragment of black spine paper remains; binding staples rusted. H 22.25cm x L 28.5cm. Unpaginated but 53 leaves (106 pages) present. Initial and concluding leaves soiled and lightly toned; light wear to corners; some soiling to interior leaves. Lacks the front cover and thus no title specifically stated but presumably this is the circa 1940 publication "Views - Natchez, Mississippi." (Ketchings issued several editions/printings of the book through at least circa 1955 but this copy's paper and typeset appears contemporary to circa 1940.) First leaf present features undated publisher's imprint of Tom L. Ketchings Company on verso with blank recto; followed by single page verso essay titled "Natchez History" by Edith Wyatt Moore also with blank recto. Somewhat cumbersome layout to remaining 51 leaves as most feature uncredited b/w photographs on rectos with associated explanatory historical-architectural summaries on flip-side versos (rather than by a more reader-friendly opposing verso/recto layout). Initial image is of St. Mary's Cathedral and concludes with the Gloucester residence owned by Mr. and Mrs. Lenox Stanton. The image/summary sequence varies by edition but this copy has all of the structure summaries and photos which appear in later editions among this bookseller's past inventory so presumably it is complete save for the aforementioned covers. An uncommon publication documenting numerous residences and a few churches of Natchez and Adams County, Mississippi with mostly exterior views but some interior images as well.
