Autograph L…etter Signed "Takata Takeuchi", author of the above, 2pp., 4to, to John Carter, 27 May 1972, asking after Carter's health, and explaining the delay in responding to Carter's letters. He tells him he has forwarded his "Concordance" (above) to Carter, and then summaries his visit to London sights in 1969, explaining that he didn't contact Carter then because he hadn't thought to write a Housman concordance; B. Typed Letter Signed, Takeshi Obata (Japanese lecturer in English), to John Carter, one page, 4to, to [John Carter], no date[c.1972], with envelope addressed to Carter, revealing his interest in "a fin-de-siecle trend in English poets", and his studies of Housman, three papers which he is forwarding to Carter under separate cover (see below). He will be visiting England to improve his English (at a course in Cambridge) and hopes to meet him; C. Three pamphlets (two being offprints) by Obata, in Japanese, all inscribed by him to John Carter, "A.E. Housman: Nonsense Verse" (pp.147-157 of a periodical), "A Shropshire Lad of A.E. Housman" (pp.22-34 of a periodical), and "Sylvan 14" (Mar. 1970), pp.61.ii, mainly devoted to Housman it appears but with two pages on Japanese poems translated into English; D. Photocopy of article, Yutaka Takeuchi, "A Poet: Drenched with his Disposition", with underlinings by Carter protesting a the use of English (the following drew an exclamation mark, "He soaked himself in his poems born from his nervous disposition", several underlinings also appearing in the list of references; E. Brocuhure, "The John Carter Collection of A.E.
